This glossary explains core terminology of MOIA’s Ridepooling API product.

Autonomous Trip#

An Autonomous Trip is a Trip taken in an Autonomous Vehicle.

Autonomous Vehicle#

A vehicle that is driving partly or fully by itself.

Customer#

A single human being who is registered for the Ridepooling Service and is ordering Trips to travel through the Service Area as a Rider.

Customer Feedback#

A subjective evaluation (i.e., rating, reaction, comment, etc.) from Customers about their experience with MOIA’s Ridepooling Service. It can relate to the Trip as a whole or a specific aspect.

Integrator#

A B2B partner who integrates the Ridepooling API into their digital products with the intention to offer a Ridepooling Service to Customers.

Load#

A load represents a single Rider with all large physical objects that should be transported in the vehicle when taking the Trip.

Offer#

An Offer describes a potential Trip which the Ridepooling Service can fulfill. Its content is mainly dictated by the Customer’s offer request.

Rider#

A single human being who is travelling through the Service Area by taking one or more Trips.

Ridepooling API#

gRPC API which enables the key functionality and intelligence to execute and offer a state-of-the-art Ridepooling Service in cities.

Ridepooling Service#

A digital-based mobility service which involves bundling travel requests from several Riders who want to travel in a similar direction. The route planning, the allocation of Trips to vehicles and their distribution etc. is carried out by an algorithm.

Service Area#

An area in the physical world where a Ridepooling Service is provided to Customers.

Service Class#

A category of a Ridepooling Service. Each service class has unique features, amenities, or benefits.

Service Configuration Manager#

A person responsible for configuring a Ridepooling Service who can be contacted in case of questions about the configuration.

Service Hours#

The time intervals in which the Ridepooling Service is available to Customers in the Service Area.

Stop#

A stop is a location where a vehicle can pick up or dropoff a Rider.

Trip#

A Trip is a Customer ordered transportation of Rider/s from location to location within the Service Area.
